About Me
Born and raised in upstate New York my running career began later than most. I played field hockey and downhill ski raced for most of high school, until my senior year when the high school XC coach saw me running after hockey practice and suggested that I try cross country!
One year of XC under my belt, I wanted to take a shot at continuing to run in college. I walked on to the State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo team where my running education truly began. My naivety and work ethic helped me improve quickly. Two years later I graduated early as a national qualifier in the 10,000 meters, SUNYAC hall of fame inductee, and member of a 5th and 11th place National XC team.
With an extra year of eligibility I continued my education at Northern Arizona University in the mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona. 2,000 miles away from home I began a journey that would teach me more about myself, the sport, and the amazing running community than I could have ever imagined.
After completing my Master's thesis "Community Assessment of Social Capital: Distance Runners in Flagstaff, AZ" I was offered a job as the Men's and Women's Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach at Oberlin College outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
Two years, and countless lessons, blessings, and amazing experiences later, I accepted a job as the Women's Head Cross Country, Assistant Track and Field Coach at Colgate University.
Now, well into the spring of my coaching career I continue to discover and rediscover my passion for this sport, the people, and the journey of collegiate athletics.
